Kate Pearce is a tertiary qualified Relationship Counsellor, nationally accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

Commencing her career as a registered nurse in the 1990s in inner city Sydney, Kate worked in Community Mental Health, and as Unit Manager in a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre.

After further study with The Institute for Relationship Studies in Sydney in the work of Dr Murray Bowen and Family Systems Theory, Kate moved into Couple and Family Therapy and now brings more than 20 years experience working with couples, families and individuals who are experiencing relationship difficulties.

Working with separating couples instigated the study of Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution at Bond University, and for the last 15 years Kate has combined her passions for couple therapy and dispute resolution in both community organisations and in her Private Practice - KP Family Matters in Mullumbimby, NSW.

As a qualified Child Consultant she is able to bring the voice of children to mediation.

Kate has trained in the area of Collaborative Practice and is committed to assisting couples and families separate in the calmest, most constructive way possible, minimising damage to themselves, each other, their children and their emotional and financial futures.

Working with conflict in many settings, Kate is committed to working to assist people build insights and skills to better manage conflict in themselves, their relationships, workplaces and communities .

Kate also provides supervision for new Mediators as well as coaching Mediators in training with The College of Law .

After recent study with The Good Grief Foundation, Kate will be facilitating groups in the Northern Rivers that support children and young people who are struggling with experiences of change, loss and grief.
